The Life and Times of Teddy Roosevelt CD

The Life and Times of Teddy Roosevelt CD

The Chronicles of a Most Remarkable Man...

At age 43, Theodore Roosevelt became the youngest President ever to have occupied the White House. His tenure followed the tragic assassination of President McKinley, but what followed was one of the most progressive eras that the Nation has ever known. The reforms he introduced, based on his personal convictions of democratic empowerment, were instrumental in formulating a strong foreign policy and reviving the American publicís faith in the presidential office.

His was a multifaceted life, and he was certainly of the pampered lot of statesmen that seemed to have been bred precisely to wield political power. In many ways, his life showed over tones of that of Abe Lincolnís - he suffered personal tragedy and knew personal hardship. His active service with the Rough Rider regiment during the Spanish-American War further underlined his personal mettle and taste for the extraordinary.

Roosevelt firmly believed that the American Presidentís role was that of a steward of the people, and also in unconventional methods to ensure that the peopleís interests are upheld. In his own words, "I did not usurp power, but I did greatly broaden the use of executive power." He did this with panache and unusual accomplishment, and his diplomatic prowess in the political arena of the world is legendary. Probably his landmark achievement could be said to be his masterly mediation of the Russian-Japanese War, for which he managed to arbitrate a Gentlemanís Agreement on immigration issues - a feat that earned him the Nobel Peace Prize.

Theodore Rooseveltís remarkable life and presidential tenure is extensively covered on this innovatively conceived CD. The multifaceted approach examines the legendary statesman from every possible angle:

The audio section features a selection of Rooseveltís most famous speeches that includes A Progressive Covenant with the People, the historic Square Deal and The Right of the People to Rule. These and other speeches by Teddy Roosevelt will transport you back to one of Americaís most vitally progressive eras.

The visual section includes a number of keystone clips and documentaries featuring Theodore Roosevelt. In all, 27 clips that showcase landmark political events and also show the President in various formal and informal settings are included.

The bibliographic section present the browser with an editorial selection of the finest books and texts ever compiled on this charismatic president, including Theodore Roosevelt - An Intimate Biography, the historic State of the Union addresses and Theodore Roosevelt and His Times.

Finally, an extensive photographic section features a fascinating collection of images of the famous president - on his own, with his significant others, with notable personalities of his time and while in his element with the Rough Rider Regiment. Included here are famous political cartoons and facsimiles of Teddy Rooseveltís personal writings, too.

Never before has the celebrated Theodore Roosevelt been documented so extensively on a single information source. The browser will be treated to a fascinating journey of impressions that will last a lifetime.

He was a fascinating man, and this country was lucky to have him. He was a prominent political personage long before and apart from the Presidency - his portfolios included New York Legislator, New York Governor, Police Commissioner of the NYC, Assistant Secretary of the Navy and Vice President. On the strength of that alone, he had earned his rightful place in the annals of American history.

But Teddy Roosevelt was an exemplary visionary and human being, too, and that matters more than all his political achievements. What he brought to the Oval Office was the spirit of a man who has longed to initiate progressive changes and now has the means to do just that. He wasted no time in reforming an ailing Foreign Policy, and his tenure, retrospectively reviewed, presents a dazzling gauntlet of groundbreaking initiatives. Of course, much has been written on Roosevelt, and countless documentaries on him have seen the light of day. What I found remarkable about The Life and Times of Teddy Roosevelt CD from A2ZCDS is the fact that it presents a holistic picture of the man. It delves deep into his life and his very mind, allowing the viewer to match writings by and about him with the very events and persons that are mentioned. What one comes away with is a three-dimensional image of the Rough Riding president in his entire splendor. I consider this CD a remarkable achievement.

"I remember the excitement there used to be at home whenever we heard that Teddy is going to speak on the radio or appear in a newsreel. We were firmly convinced that this man was going to turn the country around -and we were right. I pity the generations who did not see him in action, but this CD from A2ZCDS certainly fills in most of the blanks. Watch it - itís a historic experience."

"Theodore Roosevelt was one of the cornerstones of this nation, and weíd better not forget it. He brought a light to the dim and dusty corridors of power that was based on pure drive, conviction and the will to manifest them in a positive way. The Life and Times of Teddy Roosevelt CD picks up the loose ends in our memory of this man and ties them up in a very satisfying and enlightening way. Your company deserves a special commendation for this effort."
