This film is now in the public domain.

The British ‘Kinematograph Weekly’, 27 July 1933, reported:

Production: Although essentially a mystery drama, this film has charm and freshness which is usually denied this type of entertainment.  The gathering up of the threads takes some time, but the process is accompanied by engaging detail, some of it romantic and some amusing. Once the picture takes firm dramatic shape the interests are more exciting, but still pleasantly and agreeably light.  The appeal is addressed to all classes and all ages, and its universal interests make the picture a British attraction of commendable quality.

Settings and Photography: The interiors are particularly good, a coroner’s court sequence is extremely well handled, while the exteriors are carefully chosen and delightfully photographed.  The culminating fight, resulting in the unmasking of the real murderer, is brisk and paves the way to a good and happy ending.
