A Buster Keaton Production

An Edward Sedgwick Production

Tintype photographer Buster falls in love with Sally, a secretary for the M-G-M Newsreel, and pawns his still camera in order to buy an antiquated movie camera. At Sally's urging, Buster photographs news events that may be of interest to M-G-M, but all of his attempts turn out badly. Sally tips Buster off about an impending tong war in Chinatown…..

“The Cameraman” was Keaton's first film with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It is considered by fans and critics to be Keaton still in top form, and it was added to the National Film Registry in 2005 as being deemed 'culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.'

Prints of the movie disappeared over time and it was considered lost. However, a print of the entire film was discovered in Paris in 1968. Another print, of much higher quality, although missing some footage, was discovered in 1991. The two prints were combined into a best-available quality version which is regularly screened around the world.

Please read all the details of this listing so you know exactly what you are buying.
