Info. Capheaton Hall, near Wallington, Northumberland, is an English country house, the seat of the Swinburne Baronets and the childhood home of the poet Algernon Swinburne.
Steel engraving was a technique for printing illustrations developed during the 1800's. The steel engraving process allowed for much finer detail in the finished print.
It is printed on very good quality paper which is blank on the reverse.
The overall print including borders measures 200 x 140 mm (8 x 5.5 inches) approx. including titled borders.
There is a little age yellowing which is a feature of items of great age. This print inevitably would have been originally bound in a book at some time - please check the larger picture for condition, anything more than minor will be mentioned in the main body of the description.
This item will be shipped flat in a board backed envelope.
