THE GIANT'S GRAVE , IN THE CHURCH YARD, PENRITH
Iin the churchyard of Penrith is preserved curious antique monument called the Giants grave. They consist of 2 large pillars bearing resemblance in shape to the Spears anciently used, standing some 15 feet apart. Near to them stands another pillar called the Giants thumb . "If we may credit in the uncertain voice of dim tradition, these were raised in pious memory of one Owen Caesarius, an ancient hero celebrated for his mighty achievements and his colossal stature".
The Print measures overall approximately 205 x 135 mm (8 x 5.25 inches ). There is some age yellowing possibly with some spotting - please check the larger picture for condition.

This item will be shipped flat in a board backed envelope, and protected inside that envelope by a plastic sleeve
