The plates from this series were printed on fine India Paper and individually mounted on plain white sheets. The borders show the plate marks/indents from the printing process.

Steel engraving was a technique for printing illustrations developed during the 1800's. The steel engraving process allowed for much finer detail in the finished print.
Info. India Proof (Engraving): a proof impression from an engraved plate, taken on India paper.
Norbiton, a suburb in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, in SW London
It is printed on very good quality paper which is blank on the reverse.
The overall print including titled borders measures 265 x 200 mm (10.5 x 8 inches) approximately. The engraved area measures 150x90mm approx.
There is some age yellowing which is a feature of items of great age and there may be some scattered but light, brown spotting ( foxing ). This print inevitably would have been originally bound in a book at some time - please check the larger picture for condition, anything more than minor will be mentioned in the main body of the description.
This item will be shipped flat in a board backed envelope.
