This listing is for a 1803 c print from copper engraving, from the date stated and not a later reproduction.
Windsor Castle, Berkshire
Engraved by J. Storer from an Original Drawing by J. Britton for the Beauties of England and Wales.
Provenance: London : Vernor & Hood, 1803. For "The Beauties of England and Wales" (1801-1816).
Bought at auction, it came from a "lot" of engravings which had already been mounted onto conservation card ready for trimming matting and framing. The engraving including borders measures 210 x 130 mm (8.25 x 5 inches) approx. plus the board. There is a little age yellowing - please check the larger picture for condition. This item will be shipped flat in a board backed envelope.
The use of the term "an original print" in this case, is a pictorial image made in a manner which allows it to be multiplied, and originating from the date stated. This includes examples of various methods of printmaking including engravings, etchings, woodcuts etc. Inevitably many of these prints would have originally been bound in books, as was this one.
