Provenance: From The Antiquities of England and Wales; by Francis Grose, Printed for Hooper, 212 High Holborn facing Southampton St. Bloomsbury Square, London 1785 etc
The print has been mounted onto conservation card ready for trimming, matting and framingIt is blank on the reverse. The overall print including card/ borders measures 260 x 200 mm (10.25 x 8 inches) approx. The engraved area excluding titled border measures 180x110mm. There are plate marks to the border from the printing/engraving process. Right border edge is uneven but this can be matted out during framing process. There is age yellowing, and handling marks to the edges - please check the larger picture for condition. This print would have been originally bound in a book at some, please see provenance.This item will be shipped flat in a board backed envelope.
The use of the term "an original print" in this case, is a pictorial image made in a manner which allows it to be multiplied, and originating from the date stated. This includes examples of various methods of printmaking including engravings, etchings, woodcuts etc. Inevitably many of these prints would have originally been bound in books.
