View of Thornton Hall in Essex. The Seat of Lord Petre
A view of the house: the portico which was originally commissioned and
imported from Italy in 1742 for use on the old hall (arch. Giacomo Leoni) modelled
in the Palladian style, was then re-used on this house which was designed by architect James Paine. The gardens were
designed by Capability Brown. People in Georgian dress walking in the grounds.

Info. The term "an original print" is a pictorial image made in a manner which allows it to be multiplied, and originating from the date stated. This includes examples of various methods of printmaking including engravings, etchings, woodcut etc. Many prints, including this one, inevitably would have been originally bound in a book at some time
It is blank on the reverse.
The overall print including borders measures 245 x 185 mm (8 x 5 inches) approx.
There is age yellowing and no foxing. There is no bottom border - please check the larger picture for condition, anything more than minor will be mentioned in the main body of the description.The title states Thornton but it's actually Thorndon. CM13 3RJ
