instant info-  What is CQout's Autobid system?

The computer normally offers you the next highest bid required to win the auction, based on a modest increment.
If the starting price is very low or the item is worth a lot more to you, you may get tired of having to return to the auction to re-bid every time someone else raises the bid by a small amount.
So, you can specify the maximum amount you want to bid, ignoring the automatic increments. That amount is kept secret and is only visible to you. This is your proxy bid.
The system will bid on your behalf as the auction proceeds, bidding only enough to outbid other bidders.
If someone outbids you, the system immediately ups your bid.
This continues until someone exceeds your maximum bid, or the auction ends, or you win the auction!
If there is a reserve on the auction and the bidding has not reach there yet, At the close of auction your bid is topped automatically to meet the reserve and no more. This is to ensure you get the item you want, at no more than you need to pay for it.
Plus your Autobid will never exceed what you have specified you're willing to pay for the item.
This way you can be sure not to lose that item you really wanted because you are out manoeuvred by someone who is prepared to spend a lot of time on the web, and you do not pay any more than you need to get what you want.

Points to remember Once you have an Autobid in force:
If you are out-bid you will be notified by email. You can then choose to increase your bid further or not. However, bear in mind that the auction may close before you have a chance to read your email.
(See also Learn More about closing times on Auction Close times)
You may place a new autobid even higher than the autobid you already have in force, or you may lower it, but not below the current bidding level.
