' D. S. Macgowan Esq MD ' the engraving shows a portrait the missionary, the title puts him as D. S. Macgowan but I think it may be Daniel J. Macgowan of New York - There is an accompanying article about him alongside the engraving and onto the reverse.
' Cup Presented to Mr G. F. Watts by the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn ' with small accompanying article

Provenance: From the Illustrated London News; Published 198 Strand, 1860. The Illustrated London News was a newspaper founded by Herbert Ingram and Mark Lemon, the Editor of Punch, with the first edition of the Illustrated London News appearing on 14 May 1842.
The page measures overall approximately 400 x 275 mm (16 x 10.75 "). There is some age yellowing spotting - please check the larger picture for condition. This item will be packaged in a tube unless otherwise requested.
