Reading Abbey in Berkshire
A view of the ruins of the abbey with a small house built onto the side o fthe ruins, sheep grazing in a field in the foreground. Another building with at thatched roof seemingly built onto the walls of the ruins.

It is printed on very good quality paper which is blank on the reverse. The overall print including borders measures 225 x 190 mm (8.75 x 7.5 inches) approx and mounted onto conservation board ready for matting and framing (bought already mounted onto conservation card in a "lot" from an auction house) - please check the larger picture for condition. The borders of this copper line engraving on paper, bears the indent marking from the printing process. This item will be shipped flat in a board backed envelope.
The use of the term "an original print" in this case, is a pictorial image made in a manner which allows it to be multiplied, and originating from the date stated. This includes examples of various methods of printmaking including engravings, etchings, woodcuts etc. Inevitably many of these prints would have originally been bound in books.
